When choosing a bathtub, not all materials are created equal. Many bathtubs on the market today are made with a surface layer, a thin cosmetic coating (normally gelcoat) sprayed over a cheaper or porous core material.
But at DADOquartz®, we do things differently.
🚫 Why Surface Coatings Aren’t Ideal
Surface coatings (like gelcoat) can:
- Discolour and yellow when exposed to sunlight (UV light).
- Chip or crack from daily wear, knocks, or heavy use.
- Will be damaged by sudden temperature changes (thermal shock).
- Hide what’s beneath – you never really know what’s inside, air pockets, bubbles or tiny fissures.

All DADOquartz® products are made from solid surface material throughout – no gelcoat, no shortcuts.
- What you see is what you get – from surface to core, it’s solid, hygienic, and strong.
- No fading or yellowing, even in direct sun (UV resistant).

- Tolerant to thermal shock — fill with hot or cold water, no problem.
